The encroachment of government land including forests, panchayat’s, water bodies, etc. is a matter of great concern. Governor administration has taken serious note of it and has directed both the Divisional Commissioners and all the Deputy Commissioners to get the data for this, so that the government land could be evacuated from the illegal encroachments. It is surprising that 18 lakh Kanals of land is under illegal occupation in the state and the successive governments have never bothered to take action against the encroachments. It is to see that how this large chunk of land has come under the illegal occupation and the people including the administration remained ignorant of all these actions.
