GDC Billawar organizes annual day function

World Bank holds meeting with State Govt

Congress leader Karan Singh likely to quit party, may join BJP

JAMMU, FEB. 02: At a time when Congress is seeing exodus of leaders to BJP, name of former Congress Union Minister Karan Singh could also be added in the list. If reports are to be believed then, after Jayanthi Natarajan's 'letter bomb' on Congress, it may soon be continued by Singh as he may also write a letter to Congress president Sonia Gandhi. But sources are also saying that Karan Singh has already written a 4-5 page letter to Congress President and said he too is feeling 'suffocated' in the party.

PDP leader Muzaffar Baig offers to quit from Lok Sabha

Jammu, FEB. 02: Senior PDP leader Muzaffar Hussain Baig on Monday offered to resign from the Lok Sabha in the wake of attack over his statement on rehabilitation of West Pakistan refugees in Jammu and Kashmir and for favouring party's alliance with BJP. He said he had written to PDP patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, saying if his intentions are "suspected", his letter of resignation from Parliament should be forwarded to Speaker Sumitra Mahajan. "There has been a whisper campaign that I am pushing for an alliance between BJP and PDP because I would like to get some personal benefit out of it.

Justice Vasanthakumar takes over as CJI of J-K High Court

Jammu, FEB. 02: Jammu and Kashmir Governor N N Vohra administered oath of Office to Justice Vasanthakumar at a ceremony held at the Raj Bhavan here, a Raj Bhawan Spokesman said today.

The Warrant of Appointment of Justice Vasanthakumar, as Chief Justice of the J&K High Court, was read out by the Registrar General of the High Court, he said.
