JKLF chairman Mohammad Yasin Malik, aides detained

NIN NEWS SERVICE | Srinagar: Separatist JKLF chairman Mohammad Yasin Malik and several of his aides were on Friday detained at Parimpora here when they were on way to Baramulla district.

"Malik was detained by police near Parimpora in Srinagar on his way to north Kashmir," a spokesman of the JKLF said.

Infiltration bid foiled on LoC in Poonch, 1 militant killed

NIN NEWS SERVICE | Jammu: The Indian Army on Friday killed a guerilla who attempted to infiltrate across the Line of Control (LoC) in Mendhar sector of Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district.

Indian Army spokesperson Colonel Manish Mehta told IANS in winter capital Jammu: "One infiltrator was successfully eliminated at the LoC at Sune Gali, Mendhar (Poonch) today (Friday).

JMC Commissioner carried out sanitation drive

NIN NEWS SERVICE | JAMMU: Commissioner, JMC carried out the sanitation drive in ward no: 24, 26 & 39 which is started from Devi Chand Municipal Park Rehari. On spot assessment of the sanitary conditions and performance of other Municipal services was made and necessary instructions were issued for improvement of civic amenities. The Engineering Section of JMC was asked to undertake minor repairs of lanes & drains immediately.
