Seminar on “Role of Youth in the preservation of Heritage” organized

NIN NEWS SERVIEC | JAMMU, NOV. 20: NSS Units of G.G.M Science College, Jammu and Gandhian Study Center have organized  a seminar on the theme “Role of Youth in the preservation of Heritage “ as part of celebration of Heritage week  under the supervision of Dr. Rajinder Singh, NSS Programme officer. The Chief Guest on the occasion was Prof. (Dr.) T.A Kawoos , Director Colleges, Higher Education Department , J&K Govt. The seminar was attended by two hundred students alongwith a number of faculty members.

Dy CM greets people on Diwali

NIN NEWS SERVICE | JAMMU, NOVEMBER-10 - Deputy Chief Minister, Dr. Nirmal Singh has extended his greetings to the people of the state on the eve of Diwali.

In a message, he hoped that the festival of lights would usher an era of peace, prosperity and development. He said that while celebrating the festival we must also remember to share joy and happiness with the weaker and downtrodden sections of the society.

Mian Altaf chairs PAC meet, Calls for early completion of ongoing road projects

NIN NEWS SERVICE | SRINAGAR, AUGUST 31: The Committee on Public Accounts (PAC) of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly Monday directed the officers of Public Works Department (PWD) to speed up pace of work on ongoing road projects including PMGSY and complete them in a stipulated timeframe. The Committee also asked them for utilization of funds judiciously.

This instruction was given by the Committee, chaired by MLA Mian Altaf Ahmad in a meeting convened to examine the CAG’s Audit Paras pertaining to Roads and Buildings (R&B) besides functioning of the Public Works Department here today.

Cabinet approves appointment of B R Sharma as new Chief Secretary

NIN NEW SERVICE | SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 7: The State Cabinet which met here today under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed accorded sanction to the appointment of Mr. B R Sharma as the Chief Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir with immediate effect.

It was also decided that Mr. Sharma shall continue to hold the charge of the post of Administrative Secretary, Planning and Development Department till further orders.

Bhadarwah-Doda road remains closed for 15 days; locals suffer

Bhadarwah, AUG. 17: The locals and tourists in the mountainous town of Bhadarwah continue to face inconvenience as the authorities fail to fully restore Bhadarwah-Doda road closed for the past 15 days due to landslides triggered by heavy rainfall.
