Clashes erupt at Sopore in north Kashmir, Srinagar after Friday prayers

Srinagar, Jan 13 (UNI) Security forces today burst teargas shells to disperse protestors after Friday prayers in downtown Srinagar and Sopore in north Kashmir district of Baramulla.

Trouble started immediately after Friday prayers were over in historic Jamia masjid. Hundreds of protestors took to streets outside Jamia Masjid in solidarity with Kathua Muslims, who were allegedly victimized few days ago.

17th Wushu Championship held with Army’s Assistance

Srinagar, MAY 16: 17th District WUSHU Championship 2016 was held at Soyibug Wushu Association Budgam in collaboration with Army based at Zainakot, witnessed a massive participation.  The event saw an attendance of over 400 students from all over Budgam district.

Forest encroachments, smuggling to be curbed with iron hands: Lal Singh

JAMMU, APR. 25: Minister of Forests, Environment and Ecology Choudhary Lal Singh today asked the officers of Forest department to put their sincere efforts for stopping encroachments of Forest land and smuggling of timber and fire wood, adding that it is the prime duty of every individual, as the forests are important for maintaining ecological balance and safe and secure environment.

Mehbooba meets IAS topper Athar Shafi Khan
