New Delhi: The Narendra Modi government has formed a high-level committee to decide whether to declassify the documents related to mysterious disappearance of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, reports said on Wednesday.

India builds its first smart city as urban population swells

 

 

 

Gandhinagar: India`s push to accommodate a booming urban population and attract investment rests in large part with dozens of "smart" cities like the one being built on the dusty banks of the Sabarmati river in Gujarat.  So far, it boasts modern underground infrastructure, two office blocks and not much else.

SC issues notice to Centre on plea against re-promulgated Land Acquisition Ordinance

 

 

 

New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Monday issued notice to Centre on a plea by a group of NGOs working for farmers challenging fresh re-promulgation of Land Acquisition Ordinance.

The PIL was filed on Friday last week by Delhi Grameen Samaj, Bharatiya Kisan Union, Grameen Sewa Samiti and another NGO alleging that re-promulgation of the ordinance amounted to executive entering the impermissible domain of enacting legislation.

Telangana Muslim groups threaten protests over killings

 

 

 

Hyderabad: Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) and other Muslim groups in Telangana threatened to launch a state-wide protests against the state government, if it failed to order independent inquiry into killing of five undertrial prisoners by the police.

Adarsh housing scam: Ashok Chavan moves Supreme Court against Bombay HC order

Mumbai: The former Maharashtra chief minister Ashok Chavan on Monday moved the Supreme Court against Bombay High Court's order in infamous Adarsh Housing scam case.

Meanwhile, the Supreme Court has agreed to hear his plea on April 24 and asked the Maharashtra government to take adjournment before the trial court in the case.
