The militancy in the state, particularly in the Kashmir valley has shown an uprising since last few months. The security forces have acted tough against this increase and has also eliminated a good number of militants, operating in the valley. About 200 militants are active in j& k at present. The security forces have carried outa large number of anti-militancy operations and have also eliminated a good number of militants during the operation all out. The government is not ready to compromise with its security and has given a free hand to the forces to carry out militancy operations. Even the BJP has pulled out from the coalition government in the state to deal with the militancy in an efficient manner. Now with the Governor rule, implemented in the state, an increase in the number of anti-terrorist operations is definitely on the cards.The security forces will now have an upper hand during the operations due to increased intelligence inputs.

On the occasion whenever any economic package is announced by the Government of India, the separatists and leaders of Kashmir based political parties customary say that the package announced does not meet the aspirations of the people of the Valley, what is required is a political solution for Jammu and Kashmir, to settle the Jammu and Kashmir issue once for all, by involving Pakistan and other stakeholders (Kashmiri leadership and all sections of separatists) in the dialogue process, altogether ignoring the people of Jammu and Ladakh regions who are the major concerned parties. It happened this time also when Prime Minister, Nerender Modi announced the economic package of quite a big amount for the development of the state on the demand of the state government and the state leadership.

Even though the security forces are already on high alert in Kashmir, including summer capital, Srinagar, due to increase in militant activities, a fresh advisory has been issued to field commanders to keep a strict vigil to foil any attack during the two-day visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the state from Saturday. Meanwhile, Director General of Border Security Force (BSF) K K Sharma told reports in Jammu on Wednesday that five infiltrators sneaked into Hiranagar sector probably through a tunnel on Sunday night and efforts are on to detect and neutralise them. Security forces have been deployed in strength in sensitive areas in the valley to maintain law and order and to prevent any militant attack.
